The Sunday Times, Top 10 cheap eats in the South East 2014-2015
"his tapas [Steven Dray] brings home and away together cleverly, dishes such as rabbit, Oloroso, rosemary and celeriac are a happy marriage of Spanish and local ingredients. Could be the best tapas in the UK, all from one Englishman."

"Squeeze into this narrow restaurant (straight on to a stool at the sherry-lined bar, if possible) for charred padrón peppers
and patatas bravas alongside more adventurous tapas such as slow-cooked ox cheek with liquorice and sage"

Testimonials
“We have called in to Albariño for lunch on a Saturday afternoon twice now, and on both occasions we were not disappointed.
On the first occasion, just after it opened, we chose items from the menu, all were lovely, but a special mention has to go to the ham and cheese croquettes. Gorgeous. On the most recent visit a chef's special menu had been introduced. This was a selection of dishes for the menu for a minimum of 2 people for £18 per head. There was more than enough food to feed myself and my husband, and we are decidedly greedy when it comes to good food! It’s lovely to see a tapas restaurant locally, it’s been lacking for a long time since the closure of the excellent tapas in Ramsgate. It makes a refreshing change. I will return to try the restaurant in the evening, the food is so good I don't think I would care if they made me go and get it myself! “

"Authentic Tapas served in the traditional way from a delightful team, we chose the chefs selection so we could have a little taste of adventure and we were not disappointed, we watched our food being cooked through the chef's open hatch and enjoyed the music and surroundings whilst having some great wine. We were treated to cod roe with capers, steamed razor clams and duck with chorizo butter & beans to name a few and just sharing and tasting new things together was an experience long awaited in this area."

"After many years of living in Portugal and Spain and having fallen in love with Spanish cuisine, I have found it difficult to match the Spanish flavours in the UK. In December, just by chance, I came across this tapas bar. All I can say is I found myself back in Spain with excellent flavours and choices of tapas, as well as splendid wine to compliment the food. I particularly enjoyed the calamari and the tortilla but would recommend all dishes. The service was second to none. I look forward to visiting Albariño again and again..."

"Great food, good atmosphere - a pleasant surprise!"

"Finding ourselves on holiday between Christmas and New Year and suffering from a bit of a cold we were looking for a lunch venue that had plenty of flavour going for it. We chose Albariño and were not disappointed. The tapas dishes we had were super fresh and tasty with some great punchy flavours going on. We spend time in Spain and the dishes served really reminded us of the authentic tapas that we get there. We intend to return and also to tell friends about this wonderful find so that they can enjoy a slice of Spain in Broadstairs."

"I am amazed to say that this was the best tapas I've ever had anywhere!! I've travelled the world and Spain many times, but this was amazing cooking and a great menu. I can't believe this place exists in Broadstairs, but there we go. Highly recommend a visit."
